The RC Car Competition this year will be comprised of 2 events: the exciting On-Road event that will take place indoors on Tuesday, June 14th and the challenging Off-Road event, taking place outdoors on Wednesday, June 15th.
These events are open to Parade entrants of all ages, which makes this a great event for the entire family! Join in one, or both RC events and test your skills against family and friends. Awards will be given out for the top winners in each driving class and NEW this year we will be giving out Fastest Family Awards for each competition. At least one parent and one child must participate in order to be eligible for the awards.
On-Road Competition The On-Road Track Event will take place in the African Ballroom and Foyer and will be adjacent to the Ice Cream Social once again. We will be running heats of 3 – 5 cars each, providing fun competition for the drivers and entertainment for our spectators. This event is typically held on an indoor or covered course depending on the Parade venue.
Off-Road Competition
The RC Off-Road Track Event will take place at the River Patio. We will be running heats of 2-3 cars on a challenging outdoor dirt, grass, or mountainous course. This will offer our competitors a great chance to drive one of our outrageous off-road monster Cayenne’s on a fun off-road course.
Bring your on-road or off-road RC car for either event, but remember, it must have a replica body of a real Porsche (911, Cayenne, etc.). We will be running primarily 1/10th scale vehicles, but smaller or larger scale RC cars are welcome.
Don’t have an RC car? No problem, we’ll be providing shared loaners for practice and racing.
For each event, classes will be established based on entrant turn out in order to provide our entrants with a fun and fair experience.
If you’ve ever thought about driving a radio-controlled car, this is your opportunity! Whether you're interested in the on-road cars that can do 30+mph, or an off-road machine that can take a few jumps and keep going, you’ll certainly love this event! Come join us for some RC fun!
The RC event schedule will be available during Phase ll registration or at Parade Registration on Sunday June 12.
