2022 Parade Tours & Destination Drives

As each Porsche Parade visits a different area of North America, Parade Tours and Destination Drives offer the opportunity to focus on what is unique about the local area.  We have tours and drives for attendees regardless of age, driving ability, or type of car (rental cars are welcome on Parade tours!).  We hope you will register for one or more driving or bus tours and discover everything the Pocono Mountain area has to offer!

Parade Tours are offered on multiple days and times, giving you choices and the opportunity to participate in many Porsche activities.  Guided tours consist of multiple groups of 12-15 cars per group.  Each group has a pre-assigned leader and a “sweeper” car at the back keeping the group together.  Where do these leader and sweep cars come from?  They come from YOU when you VOLUNTEER to be a group leader or sweeper during Phase 2 registration!  Many attendees volunteer to be leaders and sweepers in their local regions and we hope that they play that forward and volunteer to do the same during the Porsche Parade tours!  Parade tours are as much about the journey as the destination.  We encourage you to sign up as part of your Phase 2 registration beginning on April 6th at 12:00 (Noon) EDT!

Destination Drives offer alternatives for those who choose not to participate in (or in addition to) the organized guided tours or just wish to head out on their own for a day to a destination not covered by the Parade guided tours.  Destination drives offer the flexibility to go on the day and time of your choosing and at your own pace.

General Tour Information

Parade attendees must register for all Parade Tours during Phase 2 Event Registration.  Attendees will not be able to register for tours at Parade check-in.  Guided tours are designed for everyone to travel as a group.  Each participant is asked to do their part to keep the tour group together.  Parade Tours follow the PCA Minimum Standards for Driving Tours.  For safety, we recommend all tour participants have a working cell phone.  Two-way radios (walkie-talkies) are permitted if they can be tuned to both a radio channel and a security sub-channel (e.g. channel 7 and security channel 12).  The passenger/navigator should be the operator of any such radios if there are two or more people in the car/sedan/SUV, etc so that the driver stays focused on the road.  Please drive safely and courteously on all tours!

Please consider volunteering to help with tours.  As stated above, we need both leader and sweeper cars on all routes as well as help in the tour staging area.  This should be done as part of Phase 2 registration.  Driving tour volunteers must be registered for Parade.  A driving tour volunteer’s meeting will be held with all Parade tour staging and lead/sweep volunteers about a week prior to Parade start.  This will be held via a Zoom all. Details on how to join the call will be made available to all volunteers as we get closer to Parade.  A back-up face-to-face meeting will be held on Sunday afternoon just after Parade sign-in closes and before the Welcome Party reception.
